The Queen Of Villains: Lady Mishil

"There's no such thing as heaven's will. It's...Mishil's will."

A killer gaze, impossibly controlled face and musical laugh. That’s how most people describe her. For me, she’s the greatest Villain I’ve ever saw. The wisest and the most captivating.
According to Silla’s history, Lady Mishil was a lover to some Pungwolijus, and a concubine to the three kings of Silla. She was one of the most important figures in the Kingdom’s history.
She was a daughter of a Lord named Mijinbu, with her father’s mother being princess Samyeop, daughter of king Beopheung (Note: please don’t be discouraged by the confusing names! I do not know them that much as well, but you must continue to read about this interesting Lady Mishil. *giggles*) . Her mother was the Lady Myodo, sister of the queen mother Sado , a concubine of king Jinheung. With these relations, Mishil gained the qualifications of being a “jinggeol” a noble within the bone rank system or in simple words, something like the second rank after the main members of a royal family.
She became powerful due to her relations with several Pungwolijus that time : she’s a wife of Lord Sejong(6th pungwoliju) ,a lover to Lord Seolwon (7th Pungwoliju) and was a concubine to 3 successive kings of Silla, King Jinheung the Great, King Jinji and King Jinpyeong.
Her enormous power was proved when she persuaded various nobles to expel King Jinji from his throne. 2 of her sons (through her many relations), Lords Hajong & Bojong, became the 11th & 16th Pungwolju, respectively.

Portrayal in TV series
In 2009, she was portrayed in a Korean historical drama tittled Queen Seon Deok. It was based on the true history of Silla about the life of Princess Deokman, who later became Queen Seon Deok.
She was one of the most powerful characters in the story. Being a court lady and the beholder of the royal Seal ( Seju) and a Wohnwa( female leader of the Hwarang corps), she worked her way to the throne.
Before King Jinheung( Queen Seon Deok’s great grand father) died, he asked Mishil to write his last injunctions. One of them was ordering Mishil to renounce all her post and serve Buddha for the rest of her life. This doesn’t sound good for Mishil and so, she hid the injunction, and talked to Prince Geumyeun, King Jinheung’s son. He was also one aiming for the throne. But the true successor was Prince Baekjong(later King Jinpyeong, Queen Seon Deok’s father). Mishil told Prince Geumyeun that she will alter the injunction if he will let her be his queen. Meanwhile, King Jinheung had already realized that, while he was alive, Mishil was a treasure to Silla, but when he died, she will become a poison. He made a secret injunction ordering the killing of Mishil. He gave it to Seolwon(7TH Pungwoliju). But unknown to him, Seolwon was Mishil’s lover and so, he gave the injunction to Mishil. Mishil was about to stage a coup when Jinheung died. Prince Geumyeun became King Jinji, but his reign was shortlived. He didn’t acknowledge Mishil’s son with him as his son. Next thing he knew was he’s dethroned and was replaced by the young Prince Baekjong, who became King Jinpyeong. She then abandoned her son who Gukseon Munno(grand master) took care of.
Later, Lady Maya gave birth to twin princesses. Mishil saw this as an opportunity to oust King Jinpyeong from the throne. It was because of a prophecy,
“Eochul Ssangsaeng Seonggol Nam Jin”
that says if a king bears twin princesses, all the male seonggol (royal) seeds will dry up, that will cause the kingdom to fall.
With Mishil’s troops all over the palace, the other twin was safely brought outside the palace by the king’s maid, Sohwa and Gukseon Munno. Mishil was devastated. She sent her main hand, Chilsuk to search for the twin.
The other twin that escaped was named Deokman( later Queen Seon Deok) by the maid Sohwa who will be her mother for half her life. Searching for her true identity, and also from running away from Chilsuk, she disguised as a male and became a nangdo (trainee) in the palace. On the other hand,Princess Cheonmyeong, her sister who remained in the palace became almost timid,  and fearful for she grew up in Mishil’s  terror. She almost lost her right as princess and was always under Mishil.
But then, the time came for Deokman to claim her rightful title. She discovered her identity and made a wise way to claim it, without causing bad effect to her father the king, save Princess Cheonmyeong’s death (she was killed by Mishil’s hwarang, mistakening her as Deokman). Thus, this was Mishil’s first defeat.
Mishil had always been bitter because of her not being a seonggol. But with Deokman much stronger than her sister, they always had arguments, wise ones. Despite being rivals, they learned from each other, voicing out their opinions bravely, but will always be left wondering.
When the king’s health declined, everyone talked about who will the next successor be. This pressured Mishil, forcing her to stage a coup. At first, she devised a plan to accuse the princess of treason. Her hwarang, Seokpum, stabbed the Sangdaedung (prime minister),Sejong(not king Sejong) who was Mishil’s husband. It was Sejong’s contribution for Mishil’s cause. They blamed it on Deokman’s soldiers and eventually organized a council to oust Deokman. But Deokman fought, which caused a civil war. When the situation reversed, Mishil took refuge in Daeya Fortress. Meanwhile, Bidam, a lover of Deokman and Mishil’s abandoned son was emotionally confused on what to do. Sohwa found the secret injunction that ordered Mishil’s death. It was then at Bidam’s hand but he hid it, refusing to use it against his mother. Despite Mishil not giving any concern, care or even, probably love to Bidam, Bidam still hoped for her affection. He learned Mishil’s order to send him to an excursion in the mountains before the coup, which Bidam hoped was because of love.
Mishil used her great influence to gather private troops of nobles. Many of them enjoyed prosperity because of Mishil and they return  the favor of loyalty to her, and devotion.
Deokman met with her and offered an alliance which Mishil bitterly refused.  She mentioned places within Silla kingdom and said:
Mishil: Know where those places are?
Deokman: Northern, western and southern borders of Silla.”
Mishil: No. They are not. They are places drenched in my own blood. The compeers I cherish, the troops, the Hwarangs. Still lie in there, not even granted an honorable burial. That is Shilla! The frontier of the land king Jinheung and I conquered. Heavenly kingdom… ruler,? And what would you know? Just as my heart was filled with devotion with Saddaham(Mishil’s first love), I cherish this country . As I fervently cherished it I merely wanted to posses it. Allegiance? Compliance? Deokman, could you share your devotion to anyone else?

And she then left Deokman moved.
After that came her great defeat. The troops she needed left the frontier and the Baekjeans (people of the enemy kingdom, Baekje) were already attacking. Due to her devotion for the nation, she sent back the troops and ordered her group to surrender. She talked to her greatest confidant and devotee, Seolwon and told him to save those who followed her and lead them in the future.
“Many chapters filled my days, and this is merely the last one.”
And she recited the song of the Hwarang:
“While you still can fight it,
Fighting is all you need to do.
And when you no longer can
Protecting it you must.
When you no longer can protect it,
Retreat is all it takes.
When retreat is not an option,
Surrender is your next best decision.
Should even surrender proved impossible,
On that day, demise shall be your best compeer.”
Bidam and Deokman on the other hand realized what will happen to Mishil and so they rushed to Daeya Fortress. Bidam was the first.
Bidam: So this was it? Why? Why!
Mishil: Do not scream. I only have one gak(half hour) left.
Bidam: So should I call you mother at least once?
Mishil snorted.
Bidam: Or apologize for abandoning me? Or at least! Deep down your soul, admit that you cherish me?
Mishil: There’s no such thing for me. You need not call me mother. And I do not need to apologize for anything. And… cherish you? What do you believe love is? Love means stealing without reserve or regret. That is what it means. If you truly love Deokman, that is what you must do.
Bidam: Princess Deokman might be a person but she also represents Shilla, and I will make sure she does!
Mishil: I was just concern about it. I tried to gain people’s hearts to gain this country. However you, are trying to gain this country to gain a people’s heart. With that devotion only people can forment, what the most innocent dream you’re aspiring for!”
After some moment, Deokman came but it was already too late. Mishil drank poison and died.
Deokman almost cried and paid tribute to her rival and her legacy.
“ I salute Mishil, and her legacy”. –Deokman
Seolwon moved to make Bidam know how much Mishil actually cared for him. Later, Bidam’s heart changed because of Mishil’s legacy.

I know all this are not enough and doesn’t do any justice to express Mishil’s greatness. I recommend you to watch Queen Seon Deok to feel her prominence. But as for me, I’ll say I’ll be forever hooked and spellbound by the queen of Villains, Lady Mishil.

Lady Mishil’s Quotes:

• "Sire, Did you say they who gain the hearts of people... will upon creation?! That with people by their side, they will rule aboved all ages to come?! People?! take a look, Sire! These are my people! Not yours but Mishils, my people! And... it is now, Mishils time to rule."
• "People can lack dexterity, people can display negligence. People... can make mistakes. People can certainly do that. But my people cannot.
• Time holds no keeper
• "Run! The seven stars... the Gaeyang's keeper?! Abandon such trifling delusions, and run far away. This... is my last shred of compassion for you". (threatening the young Princess Chonmyeong)
• Do you believe that people are good as Cheonmyeong? No way... Not at all! People, human beings in general are "evil" by nature!
• Once he starts to listen, then he will get an earful requests. Do this, do that...And if all the request are met, then do you think it will ever end? Nope, he will never see the end of it. However he may rule, he'll never be able to completely satisfy or fulfill a human beings tendency for greed. And yet... those who are clueless can easily utter words about Mishil being evil.
• A man's strength may appear great. But a man cannot survive on his won strength alone. One needs a little bit... of Heaven's will.
• Just a slight frown..and you will look stronger(to Bidam)
• For even if I gained everything, not being a queen would make it all meaningless.
• If you want to be Mishil, slay this Mishil! There can’t be two Mishils in the world.
• There’s no such thing as heaven’s will. It’s Mishil’s will.’
• I might exploit heaven. But I never let it daunt me.
*What do you believe love means? Love is stealing without reserve or regret. That is what it means.
* I was just concerned about you. I tried to gain this country by gaining the peoples' hearts. However you, you are trying to gain this country to gain peoples' heart. With that devotion only people can forment, what the most innocent dream you're aspiring for! (to Bidam)
* Like a juvenile screaming at his Belle 'look at me I will do everything for your sake'.Well, to that extent, or perhaps a child asking for his parents' attentions. (to Bidam).
*Mishil to Chunchu
"Because with the coarse hauteur their royal blood accorded them, they attempted to repress me. It is because they did not devote their all to repress me! That is the essence of conflict. Do not mistake subterfuges with mere mind games. To become queen, my life was drenched in stratagems. I devoted body and soul, my entire life to this. Should my presence daunt you, hold on to me. If revenge is your calling, devote your all to vanquish me like Princess Deokman. Those are the only ways you will ever be able to contend with me. Stake your life to fight me. Or else, just perish."

*Enough that Mishil will abandon principle to follow her dreams. And should even failure be bestowed upon her, she will go out in style. Well, to that extent?*

My favorite everything!

As I said I am a private person. But after sometime I thought it would be fun and nice if I share my list of my favorite thing! (well not just things. People, places foods everything!)

1. My Dog and puppies!
Tarzan the Bully
And yes animals especially dogs and puppies are my WEAKNESS. I dream of being a billionaire someday and adopt all the stray dogs and cats someday! I love and cherish most especially m pets. Tarzan, the bully. He's the total bully wherever territory he is! He'll be three this March. Another one, Casey, she'll be two this year and three cute 2 onths old puppies names Tiny, Chilsuk, and Seishin!

2. Books!
I just love books. The first book I ever had was A Return to Christmas, by an author whose name I've forgotten. My current favorite is 101 Stories on Philippine Revolution by sir Ambeth Ocampo. I'm also currently reading A history of Russia.

3. The Romanovs

OMG I don't know where to start.
I had first read about them when I was in 2nd year high school. It's saddening they are not mostly taught here. And frustrating only a few know about them in my country. They are a very special historical figure for me. They were in a sphere of love, devotion and care for one another during their lifetime. Indeed, very very special. They were humble and grounded and they hold a special place in my heart. .I've written some poems about them and whenever I remember how they died I just want to cry. But I know they're in heaven now, my dearest Romanov family. ♥

4. Napoleon Bonaparte

I have no words, everyone knows Napoleon and how a genius he was. But the thing that makes me admire him most are not his battles or strategies, but his determination and hunger for glory, and the way how he did everything and conquer the impossible just to get it. I kind of see myself in him in that way. I have learned to love challenges. And because of that I know I can reach for the things I want, and as he said, the word 'impossible' can only be found at the dictionary of fools. Vive l' Empereur!

5. Facebook

For obvious reasons. But really, it's because I had a hunger for talks about history and politics and in my class no one seemed interested(s hard as they pretend to be). In FB I meet different kinds of people of different countries, cultures, languages and opinions. My hunger is satisfied!

6. History!
I was planning to put in this list my favorite historical figures but they are to many to mention. Some of them are Queen Marie Antoinette, Jose Rizal, the Katipunan, some Tsars and Tsarinas of Russia, princess Diana, my dear princess, grace Kelly and I also love the colorful history of WWII and many, many more!
7. Vintage actresses
Through my liking of history I started to like and love the era of early motion pictures, until the 1960s. I especially love the darling Mary Pickford, Vivien Leigh, Katharine Hepburn, and of course Audrey Hepburn!

8. Edwardian Fashion
It's feminine, flattering in a modest way, comfortable and just gorgeous! The gowns hug the body in a way that is just right, and beautifully hanging. This photo shows Elise's gown in the movie Somewhere in time, where my eyes feasted with those gorgeous an pretty edwardian costumes!

9. RMS Titanic
At first it's just the movie. But then, after watching Titanic most of us go and research about the doomed ship. When I was in the 6th grade, I hade watched the movie for the first time. I came to believe Jack and Rose were real and I was disappointed to discover they're ust fictional characters. Nevertheless, my interest in Titanic didn't fade away. I printed many pictures of it, searched some books(but found none) and articles about it. I was actually a month or two depressed and mourning after I've seen the movie. Who knows, maybe I was one of the passengers  *winks*

10. Senator Miriam Defnsor Santiago
Well! I wasn't really a fan of hers, just three day ago! But since President Aquino came to  the palace and took his role as our new president, some odd issues came and Sen. Santiago always has a say about them! One of them was when the issue of the bachelor president  buying a luxury car. I was in a rage, muttering something about letting our president enjoy his life but then she made the air cool when she remarked something like "“So imagine, if you are a President and there is no girlfriend to share your life with, you can buy a sexy car." then followed with a laughter saying "what am I saying! Youcan transport your sexual energy" something like that. I was jaw dropped! Then the other day, she's the perfect "welcome" to Senator Trillanes who just got out of the jail. She said he'll be more handsome if he'll smile, coz he looked like he's always marching! Then yesterday she "officially" announced in the Senate that for the record, Senator Trillanes is the most handsome senator.  Talk about sassy senator! :D

10. Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
Well , where do I begin?
For me he's a hero. Imagine, can you sacrifice years in jail for something you cannot even have a personal benifit. He was jailed because of his two standoffs, complaining about the corruption and stealing of some officials. Some say how could he be a good leader if he doesn't respect the law? But what if it's for a good cause? Remember, the katipuneros also did it by tearing thei cedulas(certificate of residence) as a rebellion to the Spanish regime. It's just so sad mostly are too narrow minded to understand and realize. Anyhow, may he live long and be blessed! He's the modern hero! (My blog on Sen. Trillanes http://ibonapartist.blogspot.com/2011/01/senator-antonio-f-trillanes-our-modern.htmls )

OTMA

As a semi official signature, the girls used OTMA
No sisters could share the closeness and devotion than that of the last imperial princesses, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia Romanov. They were the daughter of Tsar Nicolas II and Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia. They were from the great dynasty of Romanov that ruled imperial Russia from 1613 until Tsar Nicolas abdicated in 1917.
They lived a life quite far from that we could imagine a princess' could be. They were raised in the simplest way possible. They bathed in cold water in mornings, slept in camp beds except if they were ill .
As young teenagers, the elder three of them were assigned a regiment of soldiers. They loved to do their job inspecting the soldiers regularly and going in reviews to see their crushes. "I would like so much to go the review of the second division as I am also the second daughter and Olga was at the first so now it is my turn," Tatiana wrote to Alexandra on 20 April 1911. "...Yes, Mama, and at the second division I will see whom I must see ... you know whom ..."
During the World War I Olga and Tatiana became nurses as sisters of mercy. Marie and Anastasia were too young to become nurses, entertained the wounded soldiers by chatting with them, reading books and playing games.
At the dreadful early morning of 17, July 2928, they along with the whole family and the dogs and servants and doctor were executed by the Bolsheviks by firing squad. In 1981, the family was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church as holy martyrs.
But right now let's go back in those sweet times and remember why OTMA was one of the most special princesses in history. (note: below are just Olga and Tatiana, articles of Maria and Anastasia are to be coming soon! ♥)

Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna Romanov

"Give us strength, oh Lord of justice, Our neighbor's evil to forgive, And the Cross so heavy and bloody, with Your humility to meet, In days when enemies rob us, To bear the shame and humiliation, Christ our Savior, help us."

1914 Portrait
Olga Nikolaevna was born on November 15 (O.S.)November 3] 1895, November 16 after 1900 – July 17, 1918.  She’s the eldest child of Tsar Nicolas II of Russia and Tsarina Alexandra.  Her name means “Holy” or “Healthy”.  As a child, she was known to be an ugly one. She was described by her Great Grandmother, Queen Victoria of England to be having an “immense head”.
Because everyone were excited or the imperial couple’s first child, she was then took to tours  in Austria, Kiev, Denmark, England, France and Germany.  When they were in France, people used to shout: "Vive le bebe!" or "Vive la Grande Duchesse!" when they saw her in carriage with a nurse. The family returned home after two months and could enjoy some peace again. Soon after their return, Xenia wrote into her diary: "Before tea we went into the nursery. Nicky and Alix sat in the playpen and played with their daughter! She is a splendid, huge little girl, and seems to have got prettier, taller and even fatter!"’
Growing up, people around her started to notice how smart she’s becoming. She felt that the rights of the eldest children should be protected. When she was told the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors, she sympathized with the eldest brothers rather than Joseph. She also sympathized with Goliath rather than David in the Biblical story of David and Goliath. When her French tutor, Pierre Gilliard, was teaching her the formation of French verbs and the use of auxiliaries, ten-year-old Olga responded, "I see monsieur. The auxiliaries are the servants of the verbs. It's only poor 'avoir' which has to shift for itself.” When a book form Alexandra’s collection was missing, they know Olga was the culprit. Once, she told her mother that Alexandra must wait until she determined if a book was right for her to read.
She was best known for being the most studious among her siblings. She reads all the daily newspapers, even political and the papers and documents on his father, the Tsar’s desk. She was also the closest to her father, often talking long walks and talks with him. It’s the opposite with Alexandra. They often fought with each other. Alexandra found Olga, in her adolescent years hard to discipline and very rebellious. Perhaps it’s because Olga was the most independent thinker among her siblings. She knew what she wanted and do what she felt was right.
On World war I, Olga became a nurse but was horrified at the bloody sight and work and even had a nervous breakdown. She was then assigned to the office works instead.
This photograph of Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna of Russia and Tsarevich Alexei was taken in May 1918 aboard the Russia, a ship that ferried them from Tobolsk to Yekaterinburg, Russia.
During the revolution, she became more resigned and troublesome, always seem to be looking faraway. It was reported that Nicholas gave Olga a small revolver which she hid in a boot, but later gave it up before going to Yekaterinburg, in Germany. Olga tried to draw comfort from her faith and her proximity to her family. To her "beloved mama", with whom she had sometimes had a difficult relationship, she wrote a poem in April 1917, while the family was still imprisoned at Tsarskoye Selo: "You are filled with anguish for the sufferings of others. And no one's grief has ever passed you by. You are relentless, only towards yourself, forever cold and pitiless. But if only you could look upon your own sadness from a distance, just once with a loving soul — Oh, how you would pity yourself, how sadly you would weep." In another letter from Tobolsk, Olga wrote: "Father asks to ... remember that the evil which is now in the world will become yet more powerful, and that it is not evil which conquers evil, but only love ..."
A poem copied into one of her notebooks prays for patience and the ability to forgive her enemies:
"Send us, Lord, the patience, in this year of stormy, gloom-filled days, to suffer popular oppression, and the tortures of our hangmen. Give us strength, oh Lord of justice, Our neighbor's evil to forgive, And the Cross so heavy and bloody, with Your humility to meet, In days when enemies rob us, To bear the shame and humiliation, Christ our Savior, help us. Ruler of the world, God of the universe, Bless us with prayer and give our humble soul rest in this unbearable, dreadful hour. At the threshold of the grave, breathe into the lips of Your slaves inhuman strength — to pray meekly for our enemies."
Also found with Olga's effects, reflecting her own determination to remain faithful to the father she adored, was Edmond Rostand's L'Aiglon, the story of Napoleon Bonaparte's son, who remained loyal to his deposed father until the end of his life.

Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna Romanov
"one has to struggle much, because the return for good is evil, and evil reigns. "

On May 29(O.S.)/June 10(N.S.), 1897, the second daughter of the Tsar was born. She was named Tatiana" as an homage to the heroine in Alexander Pushkin's novel in verse Eugene Onegin. Her father liked the idea of having daughters named Olga and Tatiana, like the sisters in the famous poem. As a baby, it was immidiaetly noticed that she’s to be a beautiful girl.
She had somewhat more of eastern features and was considered by courtiers to be the most beautiful among the sisters. She had wide spaced eyes that were rather narrow, a dark chestnut hair and a delicate and thin frame. At later years, she’s to be taller than Olga or her mother, Alexandra.
She and Olga were close to each other and was labeled the big pair. In the spring of 1901, Olga had typhoid fever and was confined to the nursery for several weeks away from her younger sisters. When she began to recover, Tatiana was permitted to see her older sister for five minutes but didn't recognize her. When her governess, Margaretta Eagar, told her after the visit that the sickly child she had been conversing so gently with was Olga, four-year-old Tatiana began to cry bitterly and protested that the pale, thin child couldn't be her adored older sister. Eagar had difficulty persuading Tatiana that Olga would recover. French tutor Pierre Gilliard wrote that the two sisters were "passionately devoted to one another."
Tatiana was said to have the bearings of an English aristocrat and the daughter of the Tsar. Unlike her sisters, who were rather unlady-like in manners, Tatiana was regal and there was something in her air that let’s people never forget who she was.
During the World War I, her popularity grew, now overshadowing her sisters. Perhaps, besides the good looks it’s also because of her strong sense of duty.
Through her good looks and her art of self assertion she put her sister in the shade in public, as the latter, thoughtless about herself, seemed to take a backseat” Pierre Gillard wrote.
Later, she was nicknamed “the governess”  within the family. She constantly looked after her siblings and even Olga. She instructed them what to do and was a constant help to the household. When she grew older, she always took care of her mother, giving what she needed. She also helped in arranging official duties so it would not clash with any private engagements. Unlike her siblings, she was practical and didn’t argue. Maybe for these qualities, her mama’s friend and confidante, Anna Vyrubova made her a godmother of her first baby and even named it after her.
According to Sophie Buxhoeveden Tatiana´s character was „a mixture of exactness, thoroughness and perseverance, with leanings towards poetic and abstract ideas. She was closest in sympathy to her mother, and was the definite favorite of both her parents. She was completely unselfish, always ready to give up her own plans to go for a walk with her father, to read to her mother, to do anything that was wanted... She had a less strong character than Olga Nikolaevna, whose lead she would always follow, but she could make up her mind in an emergency quicker than her elder sister, and never lost her head.
She enjoyed little parties and later also danced on several great balls. Her first party took place when she was only two and a half years old. On the top of the staircase little Imperial daughters were welcomed by Maria Pavlovna and her brother Dmitri, who held the party, and their nurse. Only a few days after that Imperial children had such party too and little Tatiana as frantically anxious to be dressed and ready. She would hardly stand still have to sash tied. „When we went to Marie's house she and Dmitri were waiting for us at the head of the stairs, and I know it must be right for us to wait for them,“ she explained her anxiousness. And really – while Olga and Maria would content themselves with amusing one or two visitors at their parties, Tatiana would copy the adult hostesses she had seen and try to look after everyone.
If Alexandra would choose who her favorite daughter was, it would be Tatiana. Though she was trying not to show it, she proffered her second daughter than the rest of her siblings. Not that she loved the others less but Tatiana’s like her soulmate. She wrote Nicholas that indeed Tatiana was the only one of her daughters who seems to “grasp it” when she explains her way of looking at things.
“If the Tsarina made any difference between her children, Tatiana Nikolaevna was her favorite. It was not that her sisters loved their mother any less, but Tatiana knew how to surround her with unwearying attentions and never gave way to her own capricious impulse” Their French tutor Pierre Gillard also said.
She also loved fashion. Thanks to her elegant figure she looked great in every frock no matter old it was. Vyrubova wrote that Tatiana had a great talent for making clothing, embroidery and crochet and even dress her mother’s hair better than any stylist. She was also good at piano and painting, but these are more of academic reasons that that of passion.
During the Great War, Tatiana along with sister Olga and Alexandra became nurses to the wounded soldiers. While Olga, later, quitted her job because of the bloodiness, Tatiana did her job greatly and made great friends with the nurses she won’t meet if not because of the war.
Perhaps one of the reasons for the soldiers’ recovery was their being charmed by the grand duchess. She talked to them and sometimes flirt with them  and play different games with them. Some developed crushes on her and admired her greatly. But only a few stole her heart and caught her attention.
Though an ice queen as she is always thought of, she also had the heart of a young girl. She met Dmitri Yakovlevich Malama on around 1914. He was one of the wounded soldiers confined to the hospital and one of her patients and was a handsome young man loyal to the Tsar. They grew to love each other under the approving eyes of the Tsarina.  “looks flourishing more of a man now, an adorable boy still. I must say a perfect son in law he would have been -- why are foreign Princes not as nice!” Alexandra wrote to Nicholas.
Hoping to please her, he gave her a french bull dog and they named him Ortino, after Malama’s horse. But he eventually died, and Malama, without hesitation, gave Tatiana another puppy who died with them in the execution.
Dmitri Malama(on the wheelchair) and Tatiana behind
However, Malama was not the only one to gain the affection of the Grand Duchess. Both she and Olga were fond of a soldier Vladimir Kiknadze, whom they took care about in 1915 and again in 1916.  Chebotareva described that Tatiana would sometimes sit beside “Volodya” at the piano as he played a tune with one finger and talked to her in a low voice, wearing a mysterious expression on his face. She would often sit on his bed and some nurses were afraid such behavior could very easily cause gossiping and the girl´s reputation could suffer from it. There were other soldiers taken by Tatiana´s beauty and caring, her devotion to the wounded and they remembered her even a long time after she died.
In April 1918, the Bolsheviks moved Alexandra, Nicholas and Maria to Yekaterinburg. It was Tatiana who told her mother to “stop tormenting yourself” and move with her father. Alexandra decided Tatiana must be left behind, being level headed, she was able to take care of her ill brother Alexei was was having Hemophilia attacks that time.
On 14 July 1918, local priests at Yekaterinburg conducted a private church service for the family and reported that Tatiana and her family, contrary to custom, fell on their knees during the prayer for the dead. The final entry in Tatiana's final notebook at Yekaterinburg was a saying she had copied from the words of a well-known Russian Orthodox holy man, Father Ioann of Kronstadt:
"Your grief is indescribable, the Savior's grief in the Gardens of Gethsemane for the world's sins is immeasurable, join your grief to his, in it you will find consolation."

Senator Antonio F. Trillanes : Our modern Andres Bonifacio

“Let me be clear. We admit guilt as far as rising up against the most corrupt president this country ever had,” he said. “Proudly.” – Trillanes

With the freeing Senator Antonio F. Trillanes IV, after being in jail for more or less seven years by President Noynoy Aquino, are the negative comments and talks for and about him around. I had the urge to answer all of them, narrow minded and shallow comments.
Many says he was a stupid, fool and even moron doing all his standoffs and rebellion. I say he's just one of the very few men in this nation who have enough guts and courage to stand up, and defend the rights of the deprived. For those who see him with bad eyes, why don't you stop and think. Have you done any thing to contribute for the fight for the stolen rights of the nation(or for the least, for yourself and family)? Most of us are just sitting comfortably in our homes, waiting for the next news break and then commenting on the alleged mistakes we see. Why don't you act first? Then you can say you have the right to humiliate others, especially like Senator Trillanes who did a big sacrifice for the people.
Some even says he just spent half of his term on jail, sitting all day, looking at the ceiling. I say why don't you have some read first. He's an author and co- author of more than 15 bills, and had most of them pass into law.
